There are different types of ginseng, including Panax ginseng, and American ginseng, each with a slightly different structural makeup than the other. Most studies done have used American or Panax ginseng. The use of ginseng may reduce feeling of fatigue moderately. I would recommend at least 1000mg to 2000mg of 3-5% ginsenoside extract daily for at least 3 months. I typically have patients add coenzyme Q10 600mg daily in addition. These studies are rather old, so the med-o-meter rating will be lower because of this, but it may be worth a try. Again, given a few months.
