Should I have a blood test to check for prostate cancer (PSA) if I am age 55-69?

Prostate cancer screening is HIGHLY controversial. There has been a lot of backlash about the USPSTF recommendation against all prostate cancer screening back a few years ago. The answer is definitely more nuanced, but generally speaking, if you are at average risk, you should probably have at least one screening PSA. If it is high, you do NOT necessarily have to have a biopsy. This is where a lot of the controversy lies. A lot of times just monitoring PSA over a period of time is just fine.
