Unnecessary pap tests are one of the most commonly overused procedures in America. If your pap tests were previously normal, you can wait 3 years until you get the next one. Don’t let your gynecologist pressure you into one that you don’t need. Of course, this is different if you have had a previously abnormal pap with abnormal cells. (infections like yeast infections don’t count)
