MedHead Message:

Magnesium 400-600mg daily in adults has been shown to decrease asthma exacerbations, including ER visits for asthma exacerbations. If you have asthma, start on magnesium today. Avoid routine dosages over 1,000mg daily to prevent overdose, and get your magnesium levels checked. Please note that if you do get levels, the RBC magnesium level is much more accurate than regular serum magnesium level. It may cause some loose stools. But if you have chronic asthma, make sure you add magnesium to your regimen every day.
