Question:
Does taking collagen peptides help reduce healing time if I have a pressure ulcer?
Answer:
Yes
MedHead Confidence Score: 2
Amount Saved: $12,343 cost of average pressure ulcer
MedHead Message:
Not a whole lot of current research on this…But the few that have done controlled trials have shown very positive effects that are highly significant. The thing about collagen peptides is that for nearly everyone who takes them, there are little, if any side effects. It is also relatively cheap, compared to other modalities. If you have a pressure ulcer, or a chronic wound that is not healing, consider adding this to your regimen for at least a few months of use. In these studies, differences were noted in as little as 2 weeks. Every month you save from spending on your chronic wound is money well worth saving!
