Does generic Fosamax (alendronate) work just as well as Forteo (Teriperatide)?

MedHead Message:

Forteo is over $3,200 per month, while generic Fosamax is about $6. Hmmmm. This seems like a no brainer to me. If you’re taking Forteo, talk to your doctor about switching to Fosamax. If they offer you no good reason for why they want to keep you on Forteo, switch to a new doctor.
