Does eating a plant based diet reduce my risk of heart disease and early death?

Funerals are expensive. Especially if they are yours. We’ve intuitively known this for years, but it’s nice to know there is some data to back this up. What we eat and drink is an intensely personal experience shaped by our our environment including socialization and culture. That’s why it is excruciatingly difficult to do studies that are not observational only, meaning there no way to definitively prove that eating healthy food keeps you alive longer than eating bad food.
What are healthy plant based foods? They may vary due to allergies and intolerances, but for most people they include blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apples, pears, strawberries, pineapple, watermelon, oranges, kale, spinach, squash, cauliflower, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, sweet potatoes, peppers, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, and onion.
Also some meat including beef, chicken, pork no more than 1-2 times weekly. Fish is ok to eat more often.
Stay away from sodas (especially diet soda), white flour, white sugar, highly processed foods (snacks, chips, etc), and diets heavy in meats (more than twice per week). Save the $7,800 you would have spent on your funeral and spend it on traveling to see your friends.
