Men, don’t get a screening prostate exam. And don’t think that your doctor is lazy or incompetent for not offering you one. I personally am tired of feeling “lazy” or “incompetent” if I don’t offer prostate exams. I only do them now because sometimes it just takes to long, or I sense that my patient thinks I’m just to lazy. Some old habits die incredibly hard. If you are having symptoms with urinating, then that’s another thing. But if you have no symptoms, just let this one go. Both you and your doctor will be grateful!
