Newsflash: Everyone born on earth has some sort of “heart murmur” which is a “swoosh” sound during the heartbeat. Most murmurs that do persist are completely benign and will never cause problems. However, if you DO have any of the symptoms described in our question, and have a known heart murmur, you’ll likely need at least an echocardiogram to check out the heart valves. This may be done by a primary care doctor or cardiologist.
