MedHead Message:

It turns out that preliminary results of Maca root from Peru stimulates libido and sexual function in adults experiencing sexual side effects from SSRI antidepressants and low libido. Dosing needs to be at least 2-3 grams daily for at least 3-4 weeks, as amounts lower than this have show less effectiveness. Be aware, this is a level 1 confidence, meaning the evidence is quite weak. However, there aren’t many things out there to help in this category and there is at least some preliminary data showing improvement.
